Get to Know Dr. Sumanth Yenduri
Dr. Sumanth Yenduri is the provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs at ¸£Àû¼§ (¸£Àû¼§). Acting as the chief academic officer of the university since 2025, Dr. Yenduri strives to improve the student academic experience, promote faculty success, foster impactful research, and facilitate community engagement.
Dr. Yenduri is proud to serve at an institution that changes lives and communities. Driven by its motto, “The measure of a Life is its Service,” ¸£Àû¼§ is a Doctoral University: High Research Activity (R2) and a Carnegie Foundation Community Engaged Institution. It is the only university in the state of Texas with a Polytechnic College and a medical school, in addition to its seven other academic colleges.
The Division of Academic Affairs is committed to helping students have a meaningful college experience through community engagement, impactful research, as well as academic excellence. In addition to helping students graduate on time, under Dr. Yenduri’s leadership, student success means ensuring that students have access to the curriculum, research opportunities, and academic resources necessary to be successful in their aspirations.
A lifelong learner with a master’s and doctoral degree in computer science, Dr. Yenduri has more than two decades of experience as an educator and has held leadership positions as dean and chair, among others.
When he is not on campus, Dr. Yenduri enjoys spending time with his wife and son, traveling, and hiking.
