Step 1:  Complete the

Step 2: Submit Your Transcripts

  • Mail an official high school transcript to: ¸£Àû¼§ | Undergraduate Admissions Office | Box 2418 | Huntsville TX 77341-2418
  • Ask your high school to send an electronic official transcript to ¸£Àû¼§ (code: 003606)
  • ¸£Àû¼§ does not accept fax or emailed transcripts

Step 3:  Check your Admission Status

  • After completing your application and submitting your transcript, you can check the status of your admission here.

Step 4:  Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

  • When completing your Financial Aid application (FAFSA) make sure to mark that you were a ward of the state to qualify for the full Pell Grant. You can complete your FAFSA at 

Step 5: Apply for the Tuition & Fee Waiver

  • The state of Texas provides youth who have aged out of care* (* there are other caveats) with a waiver that covers tuition and fees for any state-funded

This applies to public institutions of higher education such as ¸£Àû¼§, community colleges, or state vocational schools. This does not include private schools. To access the Tuition and Fee Waiver, contact your State PAL Coordinator or Student Assistance Services.

Step 6: Apply for the TDFPS Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Program

  • The ETV is to help offset any extra bills you may have as a student. The amount awarded is up to $5000 a school year. To apply you will need to fill out the initial application and then submit specific documents by the due dates. For more information go to 

Step 7: Make an appointment with a FORWARD liaison

  • FORWARD Liaisons are here to help not only your transition, but also your success during your time at ¸£Àû¼§. Complete our information form to set up an appointment.

Step 8: Make an appointment with a Financial Coach

  • Finances are one of the most difficult parts of becoming a college student. Meet with a Financial Coach to get started on the right track. Schedule a coaching session
