Staying Healthy While Living On-Campus
Living with others can put you at higher risk of getting sick. ¸£Àû¼§ does not have alternative housing available for you or your roommate while either of you are compromised by short-term illness (examples are Cold/Flu, COVID, Measles, etc.). Therefore, it is essential that you have a plan should you need to isolate or quarantine from others.
Most of our on-campus students live within a few hours from home. If your illness requires isolation or quarantine, you might consider going home (or to a close relative’s house) until the illness passes. Make sure to email your professors for classwork instructions.
Your Health Prep Checklist:
Staying ahead of schoolwork – working ahead may decrease your overall stress when you are feeling ill.
Pre-stock over-the-counter meds – doing this will ensure you have what you need when you need it.
Hydrate, eat right, get enough exercise and sleep – not enough can be said about a healthy lifestyle to ward off illness.
Keep your room tidy – it may seem like a small thing, but staying organized reduces stress when you are under the weather.
