PAWS for Mental Health

PAWS for Mental Health is ¸£Àû¼§â€™s official mental health campaign. Our goal is to normalize the conversation around mental health, increase help-seeking behaviors, and connect students with campus and community resources.

JED Campus at ¸£Àû¼§

¸£Àû¼§ became a JED Campus starting August 2024. As part of JED Campus, ¸£Àû¼§ is engaging in a 4-year partnership with the Jed Foundation to evaluate and strengthen our programs and systems that support student mental health. ¸£Àû¼§ joins nearly 500 campuses across the nation who are proud members of the JED Campus program!

JED Campus Pillars

  • Policy Development

    This pillar is dedicated to ensuring that campus policies, protocols, and guidelines are supportive of student mental health and well-being.

  • Clinical Services

    This pillar is dedicated to establishing coordinated care across services, providing gatekeeper training widely across campus, and focusing on substance misuse support.

  • Environmental Safety

    This pillar is dedicated to messaging around crisis intervention in high-risk campus areas and developing a process for campus environmental scans to mitigate access to lethal means.

  • Grants & Research

    This pillar is dedicated to collecting data on student mental health and well-being and identifying grants to support programs and services.

  • Health Professions

    This pillar is dedicated to supporting the unique needs of ¸£Àû¼§’s health profession students, including the Gordy College of Osteopathic Medicine, Health Professions Programs, and School of Nursing.

  • Marketing & Promotion

    This pillar is dedicated to maintaining the PAWS for Mental Health campaign and ensuring ongoing marketing of the efforts of the JED Campus task force.
